Stone Shelter Workshop - Dry Stacking Masonry

Humans have built with stone for at least 10,000 years, from simple stone beehives, to the solid heavy temples of the Mayans, Greeks, & Romans, to the graceful cathedrals of the Renaissance, stone is at the heart of human culture. Join us for a weekend of learning and assisting with the stone work for the exterior of our new Stone Shelters led by Bill Bradbury! 

During this weekend, participants will learn a unique style of stone masonry involving a lime mortar dry stacking technique that has many contemporary applications. 

 This is a two day workshop with meals and overnight camping included.

Packing List

• Working gloves
• Boots, sandles, shoes
• Sun hat, sunscreen
• Personal tent camping supplies (tent, sleeping bag, snacks)
• Swimsuit + towel 
• Stone Chisel & Hammer (optional, if you have it) 

Due to our limited number of spots, each participant MUST have their own RSVP and no additional add-ons or arrivals will be possible. Price for the workshop is $125. If you volunteer two additional six hour days in the following the workshop between May 9 - May 27th,  we will refund that payment to you. All RSVPS are final and non-transferrable.
