Maple Grove Hot Springs and Retreat Center is a 45 acre, fully off-grid eco center along the Bear River and Oneida Narrows Reservoir.  We offer 4 hot spring pools, a 30’ group retreat yurt, glamping accommodations in yurts, canvas, cabins for over 30 guests, riverfront beach, hiking trails, paddleboard/kayak rentals, reception lodge/bathhouse, and more.

Maple Grove Site Host 

Maple Grove On-site Hosts bring a diverse background and work with fellow hosts to  oversee the center functions and guest experience while on-site. While on-site, they are the executive presence tasked with representing the intention and service of Maple Grove. They will be an integral member of the founding team of conservationists, healers, explorers, artists, and builders dedicated to the revival of a historical hot springs in the pristine landscape of Southern Idaho. This role includes onsite housing for 3 months and is suited for an individual applicant. 

 

Commitment:          Mar  - Aug, 2023

Work Schedule:       4-8 days a month, typically 2 day shifts at a time (including select weekends)

Start Date:               ASAP

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise and be accountable for all aspects of on-site Maple Grove Hot Springs Retreat operations when the General Manager and Hosting Couple is not present

  • Ensure guests have an exceptional “one-of-a-kind” Maple Grove experience

  • Maintain and builds relationships with property neighbors, local communities, and key partners

  • Be a Maple Grove representative upholding our vision and core principles

 

Guest Management

  • Interact with guests to ensure total satisfaction with resort services

  • Support daily housekeeping + laundry service

  • Ensure accurate communication of information to guests regarding resort services, facilities and operating hours, as well as provision of appropriate collateral materials to guests as needed

  • Maintain consistent standards of guest orientation and escorted arrival tour procedures

  • Ensure guest satisfaction through appropriate resolution of all issues and complaints

  • Ensure guests comply with retreat rules and guidelines at all times

 

 Property Management

  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of hot springs, River House, grounds, resort accommodations, and staff housing

  • Ensure recreational rental equipment is well maintained and safe for guest use

 

Office Administration

  • Manage online registrations of lodgings, and daily soaking

  • Oversee procedures for and maintain accuracy of all cashier functions and ensure staff adherence to all accounting, billing and credit policies

 

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, responsible and mature, and enjoy working with people

  • Experience managing volunteers & team members

  • Must be easily adaptable to shifting of work loads and specific tasks

  • Live and work in remote and at times extreme outdoor conditions (rain, sun, snow)

  • Pass background check

  • Valid driver's license

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in eco-tourism, guest hospitality, outdoor education, wilderness therapy, hotel management, or a related customer service field

  • BA/BS degree in eco-tourism, outdoor recreation, sustainability, environmental education, and/or small business is awesome but not necessary

 

Compensation:

  • Hourly base pay of $13-15/hr (based on experience) 

  • Free on-site housing with approved ability to host friends and family 

  • Tip matching (total monthly tips + match range between $300-$500+)

  • Monthly accruing PTO 

  • Quarterly educational professional development grant.
