About the Event

Join us for a one-day workshop about Wild Teas and Bees with botanist & herbalist, Rikki Longino. Learn how to identify key plants and pollinators that compose the unique biome of Maple Grove Hot Springs. We will walk the land and work with some of the wild medicinal plants on site and brew them into a woodland tea. We will also learn facts and behaviors about stingless native bees, on which our collective futures depend. As we enjoy our wildcrafted tea, we will construct attractive hives for native cavity-nesting bees using recycled materials and our boundless imaginations. Guests will take home a bundle of wildcrafted tea and a native bee hive.

Come join us and a safe, small number of hot spring loving strangers as we get out of our comfort zones and into some practical skills, ideas, and rituals that have the ability to alter the way we view and experience our inner and outer landscape.

This one-day workshops includes everything you need to become familiar with ethical wildcrafting and the importance of native bees as well as some toasty hot springing and tasty meals. Space is limited and ticket options include both day-of only and two-night packages.

About the trainer-

Rikki Longino is a community botanist, herbalist and organizer in Salt Lake City, Utah. They founded The Mobile Moon Co-op, a female and queer farm and apothecary and currently work as the City Library's Community Garden Coordinator and the University of Utah's Environmental Humanities Resident Practitioner. Rikki can be found hands in the dirt, face in a flower, pockets full of seeds, and teeth munching wild greens any given day. They are motivated by the way elements of a healthy ecosystem intersect and support one another, by the way moon cycles wax and wane, and by the expansion of imagination in the face of crisis.
