Farewell Sporkos | Maple Grove Hot Springs

Of all the seasonal changes we prepare for—wind, leaves, snow, heat, weeds, drought, sunshine, and shade—the hardest and most expansive will always be our beloved team transitions.

Last month, we bid farewell to the one and only Sporkos! Greg and Ellen Sporko steered our ship through one of the most diverse six months in our history—Winter guests, Spring projects, and the dynamic task of being both host and contractor without skipping a beat.

And trust us—the beats were many.

Our Catan games and home-baked bread will never be quite the same. But therein lies the sweetness of life. In moments and seasons that aren't meant to last forever but rather to be deeply lived and loved and ultimately shared beyond our grasp.

And so, they are off to share their talents with East Coast campers doing what they do best—hosting transformative moments with love and care.

Another lesson on big land is that every change welcomes new growth. So join us in welcoming up Conor and Remi from Maryland! After working together and falling in love on a year-long road trip to Alaska and back, they're joining us with a calm and collected temperament to hold down the fort for our inaugural Summer Shelter season and beyond.

The Humans who work this land ultimately become a part of it. If you visit here, you become a part of it too. Thanks to all you Humans out there, on our team and as our guests, who make the changing of seasons worth experiencing!
