What is on the other side of fear? Freedom.
And, usually, thicker skin, deeper friendships, and much sharper tools.
Which is why we are announcing River Writing, our 2nd Be Well Workshop for Creativity & Conservation w/ @nan_seymour on Sat 9/28 featuring special guest author and Utah Poet Laureate Lisa Bickmore.

One year ago today, an environmental test in preparation for a new dam proposal reached its goal - to drop the Oneida Narrows Reservoir to its lowest level.
By nightfall, it also created a vacuum on our Mother Source Pond and drained the whole damn party.
By morning, the Source was empty, pools were cold, and our entire 4 year restoration in the making confronted its worst case scenario - no hot water.
For a month, we would hurl everything into the abyss of fear as we worked the problem. Equal parts science and politics, the fear expanded from an empty pond to a pending dam.
Through it all, one tool carried us through the crisis - the written word with a healthy dose of total vulnerability.
In the ripples of the rug being pulled out under our feet, friends rallied to restore the pond, guests signed petitions to delay a dam, and our team was left feeling completely and utterly free.
We experienced the worst and we survived. The other side of fear offers freedom.
Writing through it all was both our salve and our savior and we’re committed to support everyone out there who wants to explore their path to expression through vulnerability, writing, and activism.
On 9/28, grab your pen, swimsuit, & thoughts and consider being part of our writing community. With options to join for the day or a few nights, we intend to eat well, think creatively, write a lot, and soak even more.
Will we see you on the other side of your fear?
