Looking to shake up how you holiday?

If you’re a Mountain West dweller, you know that July holidays hit a little different out here. What starts with 4th of July continues on with demolition derbies, rodeos, and of course the Utah classic Pioneer Day/Pie & Beer Day (a complicated day celebrating the Mormon settlers permanence that conveniently skips past the indigenous peoples displacement). Nevertheless, a month of fireworks and fanfare abounds.

Over the years, we’ve learned that we informally end up becoming a pretty low key hideaway for those seeking a special escape that can gently mark the holiday. We wouldn’t say the common theme is “escape” from the chaos and traditions, but something more akin to redefining them.

This is true for most holidays up here. We observe a restful resistance to what can sometimes feel like a holiday hurricane of “do this, go there, buy these, explode that”.

At first we thought, “Do we need to drum up big events to roll alongside the holiday hum of activity?” But then, we noticed how nice it also felt for us. In lieu of chaos, we’ve chose to err on the side of simplicity.

Subtle evenings of yoga, nature walks, community talks and waterfront acoustic moments feel like the right balance of personal rest and community celebration when big events hit.

So, if you’re looking for a quiet holiday escape today, you’ll find that in one of our soaking sessions. If you’re looking for a holiday weekend adventure? You’ll find a sleepy pass at that in one of our open units this Friday eve.

AND, if you’re looking for a more lively evening, even if just for an hour or two, we’ve still got a few tickets left for our Sat 7/26 Sound Bath Concert featuring @joshua_james_official with @keenan_obrien64 .

Rush, or leisurely walk, over to our profile link to take a pass at an anti-holiday holiday hang on our shores.
