Beware of "BUY NOW!!!"

Folks, it's about that time in Dec where a solid group of us begin to panic. Christmas is about a week away and we're still wondering what to get for that last handful of dear family and friends.

You're not alone if you're finding yourself combing Amazon and feeling more than slightly relieved to see that "will arrive before Christmas"note on the shipping date.

If it's one button away, when it arrives, it's probably got a shelf life of joy that's about as fast. Here today, forgotten tomorrow.

Instead, take a few hours and walk outside and visit your one-of-a-kind restaurants, gift shops, small makers, and unique local vendors and invest your dollars into something that will last.

When you "buy now" in your neighborhood, it "stays forever" in your neighborhood.

If nothing speaks to you, GET A GIFT CARD and send them on a future expedition of joy.

Most gifts, when unwrapped, tell their story right then and there. However, adventures, experiences, and even future shopping expeditions to new local stores require the recipient to live them before the gift is truly given.

In an era of instant everything, consider giving the gift of the entering into the unknown and perhaps discovering something in the REAL WORLD.

A new lunch spot, a new local potter, a new romantic date night. And, yes, a new day or overnight adventure to an unknown hot spring sleepily sitting along the Bear River.

When in doubt, SEND PEOPLE into the unknown.
