November’s Best | Soak, Stretch, and Support Indigenous Wisdom!

Announcing two of our favorite November traditions that draw our attention to the rich and complicated history of this land's indigenous Shoshone roots and the present day stewards and causes that are fighting to preserve not just our shared land but also our shared future.

  1. Curious Conversations with Darren Parry @shoshoneelder, a dear brother of the land on Nov 19th 3 PM. An afternoon of soaking and storytelling meant to explore the truth of the Bear River Massacre along with the rich cultural heritage of the Shoshone people.

A portion of proceeds will support the newly founded Bichu-Nanewe NGO or Return of the People, which aims to elevate the connection between indigenous wisdom and modern day learning.

AND...

  1. Saddle up for our 5th Annual Alt Black Friday Yoga Fest in support of community efforts to STOP THE DAM here on the Narrows. Nov 24th 9 AM - 9 PM.

Nov 24th is Native American Heritage Day and we are hosting one of our favorite experiences, Do Good Be Well!

If lines, crowds, consumerism and chaos don’t sound conducive to your wellbeing, come join us for a soak during a day of doing good and feeling better. Ditch the shopping and dive into a soak with yoga, music, food and more.

Thanks to the donated expertise of yoga, music, and wellness practitioners across our community, proceeds will support our Friends of the Narrows Action Fund - Our collective effort over the next year to STOP THE DAM - a proposed new dam here on the Oneida Narrows.

With options to join for a few hours, the day, or overnight in a range of packages, 100% of proceeds will go towards the mobilizing and organizing required to not just honor the history of this indigenous corridor but to PROTECT and PRESERVE what still exists today.

Sign up for both events in our profile or calendar.
