A Sunday sentiment on WHO TO VOTE FOR.
Politics, after all, is the art of compromise with an arc towards collective care. How incredible, really, that people from every imaginable walk of life live together in neighborhoods, cities, States, and even within toasty pools and get the right to weigh in on what that comprise looks like and how that care is spread.
Our advice? Vote in the upcoming election and do so with love and trust that your vote is both counted and matters.
Then, go outside and make the daily choice that matters even more -
A VOTE FOR EACH OTHER.
Because on Wednesday, when we wake up, we'll find that we are all still floating in the same pool with the same chances to make that daily dip a little bit easier for those around us.
Regardless of the color of your hat or the sign on your lawn, every single day is a chance to vote for the world we generally all agree we want to inhabit.
For the neighbors we aim to love. For the struggling stranger who just lost their job. For the kids in our community trying to thrive in school. For the lonely senior who could use a little company. For the tired parent who just needs a little break. For the new business on the corner whose customers are too few. For the faith-filled father concerned about changing norms. For the loving queer daughter boldly changing norms.
VOTE FOR EACH OTHER.
And most importantly, for the person across the street who sees the world entirely different than you.
VOTE FOR THEM TOO. Instead of pouring gas into the tired flames of our superficial differences, bet on the daily depth of our shared humanity.
No matter what happens on Tuesday, we will all wake up on Wednesday as inherently good people who are all winging it through this wild adventure called life.
And how incredible is it that we each have the power to make one another's day THAT MUCH EASIER.
VOTE FOR EACH OTHER on Wednesday, Thursday, and every day that follows.
Because, in the end, red or blue, big city or small town, you or me, we know how good it feels to strip down to our humanity and sit in the same 107 F pool and smile at one another.
Even if just for a moment.
VOTE TO MAKE THAT MOMENT LAST
