We All Live Downstream

We all live downstream of something.

Whether it’s the worst air quality in the Nation hovering over our kids in Salt Lake City and Cache Valley or the dwindling currents of the mighty Bear failing to reach the shrinking, dying shores of the Great Salt Lake, actions HERE always have consequences THERE.

Collectively, the burdens of environmental degradation through poor air, water, and ecosystems impact humans from all walks of life. All ages, abilities, races, genders, classes, and yes, even political parties.

On our shores, to enjoy the cozy warmth of our mineral pools as they pour into the flowing Bear comes with an invitation - To focus our gaze downriver.

In the days ahead, you’re invited to join 2 powerful experiences to support efforts to SAVE OUR GREAT SALT LAKE.

1. Join the Rally at the Utah State Capitol on Sat 1/25 2 PM. We will be there alongside thousands of others to encourage the Legislature to TAKE ACTION. If they can spin up a new billion $ sports complex in under a year, something tells me they can shore up the GSL.

2. Join us and the Making Waves Artist collaborative on Friday, 2/7 at 5 PM as we co-sponsor a joyous art walk to celebrate the species of the GSL. Together with fellow Maple Grove hot springers and lake facing activists, we’ll support a family friendly species walk to close out the weekly legislative session. All participants will walk away with a free pass as a thanks for rallying for our watershed. Sign up in our profile or calendar.

No matter where you dwell, it’s likely upstream of an ecosystem on the verge. No matter who you are, you’re likely downstream of crisis in the making.

Join us in shifting our gaze downriver.
