Behold, the Anti-Hustle

When it comes to starting off a New Year, the culture around us relentlessly beats the drum of acceleration and hustle and grind. Start strong, go hard, all the goals, 1000% effort.
And of course, working hard and accomplishing great things is, well, great. But there are also many streams in which to swim.
Greeting a New Year and preparing to accomplish great things, can also look like 25 humans gathering from Utah, Idaho, Minnesota and other corners of the country to meet one another in 107 degree mineral water. Gathering to meditate, to contemplate, to practice Qigong, to explore how to integrate the light and the darkness that live inside all of us, to sit together in a sauna and chill together in a near-frozen river.
Turning to a New Year, with all its potential and possibility, can be slow. Methodical. Grounded. It can be authentic and artistic.
We were grateful to partner with Maven and Qigong & Tai Chi Utah in hosting “Return to Whole Self”, a day-long retreat attended by entrepreneurs, business leaders, parents, and folks from all walks of life who opted into this Anti-Hustle. They gathered with honesty and, over the length of a long, slow day, they built community with willingness to set down guardedness in pursuit of deep alignment and wholeness for the path ahead.
It was beautiful to see.
